New contemporary kitchen - still honoring generations of love!

New contemporary kitchen - still honoring generations of love!

What a heartfelt story! Mark and Michelle Stenbeck found me to co-create a mural in the kitchen, and the result was a beautiful combination of design and devotion. “We purchased Mark’s mom and dad’s home after his father passed away this past March of covid in the nursing home. Mark’s mother Nancy was very fond of roses and we wanted to honor her in her former kitchen through our massive remodel but have it represent a new beginning for the home.”

Michelle and Mark sent me this idea, along with a photo of the space, and we took it from there! Shout out to Kirsty @ the TILE SHOP for sharing her expertise!

“Mark and I wanted to reach out and thank you for your collective efforts on a really meaningful kitchen design. Sheryl, we are so grateful we were able to find you to commission the painting of a rose on a tile for us. As you may recall, we purchased Mark’s mom and dad’s home after his father passed away this past March of covid in the nursing home.Mark’s mother Nancy was very fond of roses and we wanted to honor her in her former kitchen through our massive remodel but have it represent a new beginning for the home. The collective effort of you and Kirsty @ the TileShop, drawing out what our kitchen could look like and Sheryl creating the rose within that sketch really sealed the deal for us. It was finished this past week Friday, and it turned out amazing! We had our Stenbeck side of the family over today for our nieces wedding shower and the family was overwhelmed at the beauty your collective efforts created.” -Michelle & Mark Stenbeck

A time of change in 2020 - A Bedroom transformation from "teeny" to "tween"

Everything changes and grows, but the wonderful thing abut custom artwork is it can grow along with you! Here is a Nursery created in 2009:

Then comes the “Big Girl” bedroom additions - which she helped chose:

Now it’s the “designer” phase when, again, inspired by her very own choice of bedding, pillows, and metallic accents, the room is transformed into one any “tween” would be proud of!!

Express. Yourself. It’s what our homes are for!

Pieta found me online, and expressed her desire to co-create a unique sink with me. It was s wonderful process of drawings, photos, reactions, and changes for perfection in her eyes! She sent photos of a Sankofa Bird, Liberan Kpelle Mask and a Mudcloth design she loved. My motto “Who you are, inspires me, to create for you” came to life!! Here are some beginning inspirational photos, and there is more to come of her beautiful sink placed in her own bathroom.

Play Haven added a new "player" Custom artwork keeps this grandma's play space FUN!

This beautiful home on Summit Ave. was featured earlier highlighting this an open play area for the grandchildren! Now with a new grandson this year, custom artwork allows us to plan for the space, and add a portrait of little JAXON at his favorite activity.

The grandchildren were asked to make a list of the things they love, as I painted the walls with their names surrounded by all the great things that make them smile. Additional things will be added as each child grows. What a wonderful open area to play and create!!

"Billiards on the Boulevard"

Our co-creation project started with a beautiful billiard room. The owners, JIm and Kris, knew they wanted a weathered sign look, but with their own personal appeal, story and design. I always begin with discussions and drawings. The result is an artful addition to their beautiful space!

(Five photos start with finished mural, then show progression in the co-creating process)

-Thanks to the WIlsons for conceptualizing this great project!
